Prayers for Verity Training

Prayers for Verity Training

As we prepare for this weekend, we ask for your prayer support.

Verity Training is here, it's only three days away! We are looking forward to two days of intensive training on what it looks like to teach the Word of God expositionally. As we prepare for this weekend, we ask for your prayer support. We need prayer that the women attending would grow closer to each other, that training times would be clear, and that the future teaching by these women in their own churches would be fruitful.

Ask the Lord to create an atmosphere of camaraderie, love, and the knowledge that we all need to grow.

Please pray that women would welcome feedback. At this training, not only are you instructed in the details of exposition, you also get to practice teaching the Bible to other teachers. We recognize that this review process can build a sense of trepidation, but it does not need to be a scary experience. Ask the Lord to create an atmosphere of camaraderie, love, and the knowledge that we all need to grow.

Ask the Lord to meet the women as they gather in small groups, so that they know his love, help, and fellowship with other teachers.

Please pray that the women would grow close to each other. Friendships are formed because Verity Training is kept small. Since every person needs time to present what they have prepared, and get feedback for it, this already small group is then broken into even smaller groups. Ask the Lord to meet the women as they gather in these groups, so that they know his love and help. And as he does, ask him to create the kind of fellowship that only he can do, so that relationships are developed that will last for years to come. Imagine how beneficial it is to continue to share work and get feedback, long after Verity Training ends!

Pray for the instructional time, for teachers to have the words and clarity of mind to be able to effectively teach what God wants the participants to know.

Please pray for the instructional times as well. In addition to the small group teaching and feedback sessions, there is also instructional times prepared by Katie and Taylor to further train us. They share how they go about preparing their texts, how they adjust for the group they are teaching, and, of course, the "how-to" training for preparing expositional teaching. Please ask God to be prepare each heart for what they need to grasp to be able to grow in the teaching of his Word, and for the teachers to have the words and clarity of mind to be able to teach effectively what God wants the participants to know.

Pray that the women who attend will have fruitful ministries as they go forward.

Lastly, please pray that the women who attend will have fruitful ministries as they go forward. This weekend should benefit their own spiritual lives, but we also desire for it grow their ministries and the spiritual lives of those they minister to and with.

Of course, to all of this we must add that we want Jesus to be at the center of all that we do. Please pray that he would meet us and change us by his grace. And please pray that all that we do would be because we love him and want him to be known.

Thank you for your prayers because they are integral to this weekend! We believe that prayer is the work – the Lord hears and answers. We’re excited to let you know what he does.
